The World Needs You. Not the you assembled by engines of fear.

September 26, 2011

The world needs you. You, specifically.

Not the character with the same name as you that you may play at school, at work or in public.

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't mean to imply that America = the world. But that's a convincing point.

Not the soul that’s been bullied by organized religion, chaotic religion, new atheism, old atheism, spirituality or “spirituality” into a position that doesn’t line up with what you feel is true in your own heart.

You might not believe me, because I don’t know you. I invite you to closely examine the sources of your doubt and the reasons you might think that you have nothing of value to contribute to people’s lives. You just might find they’re dead wrong, a veil of illusion draped over you by the manipulative fearmongering we become susceptible to when an institution realizes how manageable things are when people stifle themselves.

Yea! I want to hope and know that you are right! Thanks for putting it in writing.
I work hard to be fearless and advocate for my dead and gone ancestors that helped get America up and running.
It’s our turn to run with the ball and help create the future. That’s no small task!

I love this. It’s a reminder a la Seth Godin’s ‘Tribes’. I think as always, it’s about being true to yourself and following your passion.

The world needs us– our true self, uncolored and adulterated by other people’s construct.
